A friend of mine from work volunteered to take some professional-quality photos of us in early (and oddly warm) November. I think they turned out great, and we've picked a few proofs that we think people would like in their final version.
Here's a slideshow of the best proofs:
You can look at each of the best proofs here.
I think I've typed the word "proofs" enough now (oops did it again), but to be clear there will be additional tweaks to these before we make the final prints.
Please let us know which ones you want, and what sizes and quantities you would like. We'll be putting together a few framed prints, and if you have a favorite for that please let us know, otherwise we'll just pick one for you.
We'll also try to put the final versions on a site where you can order your own prints (like you can with everything on Picasa) if that suits you better.
Enjoy!

Everybody Knows a Turkey
We started Thanksgiving a few days early at
Grammy Brady's house...

Then on the day had a nice lunch with
Mamaw Lammey...

An afternoon snack with Great-Granpa Wert...

A nice dinner blessed by the presence of Great
Uncles Thom and Paul Wert, Grandpa Mike,
and Aunt Bond...

...and after getting over our overeating regret...

...went to a Doctor Who convention to
hang out with cool people like this.

Happy Thanksgiving everybody!

Happy Halloween!
What's new pussycat? Woah woah woah woah!
We didn't venture out last year, but we were brave this time and went and visited Grandma (who gave Kate the kitty outfit for her birthday), and a few neighbors who also go to our church. She had a little bit of candy, but as kids do...
...she seemed to enjoy the packaging more.
Hope you all had a safe and happy Halloween... here are more photo highlights.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATE!
How did this happen so fast? Didn't we just yesterday rush off to the hospital, only to be turned away after hours of "walking the halls", and then return a few hours later, and then spend several more hours in pain and then drugged anticipation (and that was just me) for our tiny baby?
Didn't she just get into her harness and start looking at us like we were crazy for putting her there?
Didn't we just have a party to celebrate her arrival?
When was her first Christmas?
When did she figure out how to roll, crawl, stand, climb, and walk?
Yep, Kate Lynn Lammey is one whole year old. Ah yes, I remember it now, the sleepless nights, the tearing hair out wondering what I did wrong, why won't she sleep, why won't she eat... and that was the night after the party, when I had conveniently forgotten how much sugar she'd ingested.
It's happened all too fast, of course, but I can't wait for what's next.
Here are some photo and video highlights from the party -- if you have more PLEASE email me!
Thanks everyone for your best wishes and your presence and your presents!

Florida Vacation 2009, part ... three?!
Kate's at it again, travelling intra-nationally before she's even one year old.
Dumb old Dad has to stay home and work.
But Grammy and Janet will accompany her to (hopefully) sunny FLA to visit Aunt Lolly's new house!
I've asked Janet to post a few photos while they're there, and you can see those either as Photos or a Flipbook.
Check back often!

Great-Grandpas, or the Greatest Grandpas?
We were lucky enough for Kate to meet two Great-Grandpas.
Kate's dad's mom's dad, Bill Wert, recently celebrated his 65th Wedding Anniversary:
Kate's dad's dad's dad, Bert Lammey, was Kate's best buddy at her shower:

Bert passed away June 4th of this year. The Lammeys are a close-knit bunch, but Papaw was always trying in his gentle way to pull us closer. He worked on computers when they were the size of houses and no-one had any idea what they were, taught me how to talk to them and thus gave me my career. More importantly, he used them to email us all weekly, and encouraged us to tell everyone what was going on in our lives. He did so in all caps, which may have seemed like shouting or telegram writing, but now when I read them I hear him -- when he used to sit me on his lap and speak quietly, but directly in my ear. We miss him, and I'm so glad he and Kate got to meet. LOVE YOU GR POP

Happy Easter!
That's not my bunny!

Her feet are too small.

Ok, nice try with the feet, but that's not a bunny face.

Closer... but too flat.

Too sheepish.

Aaagh! Monster! Ruunnn!

Florida Vacation 2009, part one
I've updated this page, just under the slideshow, to show quick text updates. They're short little blurbs, notes about our trip, etc.
Please also enjoy this really cool flipbook (if that doesn't work for you, try this instead).
Check back there often, I'll be sending photos and comments there on a regular basis.
Ft. Myers here we come!

A Week of Firsts
Not all of these are easy to prove but...
First "solid" food (cream-of-wheat-y stuff):

First delighted laughter:
First roll from back-to-side-to-front (no video proof yet):

And now, a donut dance.

Happy 0th Anniversary, Trish and Troy!

Congratulations!
Thanks for the invite, a simple and beautiful ceremony, and a fun and filling reception! Troy and Trish make a beautiful couple, and perhaps you've seen his Ping-Pong skills?

...from Kate's first wedding to her second health check-up...
In case you can't read that, it says:
2/24/09 (She's more than 4 months old!)
14lbs, 3.5 oz
24.25 in long
16 in (circumference?) head
She also got to endure three separate shots (containing several immunizations each.)
And now breaking news from Kate herself: "Did you know I have TOES?!"

Happy New Year!
Happy New Year from the Lammeys!
Kate's always a little behind, but these were taken at Grandpa Mike's
Beef House Birthday Bash on New Year's Day:

You can enjoy more pictures from this event in the Whodat? album.
It may be odd to see a 2-month old out in a public restaurant,
and we had always thought we'd hold off until she can actually
eat food there. But she did so well with family traditions like
Turkey Run and Beef House. So we thought why not try out our
own new family tradition, Garden of Paradise:

Kate is available to you if you wish to start your own
down-home good-eats diet at your local greasy spoon,
and won't scream the whole time, making you consider
cutting back on spending and cooking your own food :)
For your health!

Xmas Xchange
Hello folks, Kate here...

I propose an exchange.
I've got videos from Christmas, and I want your pictures!
The easiest way is to attach them in an email, usually 10 at a time works best.
If you have a bunch of them, let me know and we'll find another way.
Here's a single place to watch all the videos in a row:
And here's just the first one (if the above didn't work):
You can also search YouTube for ern2150 (my screen name on there) and you'll find them all.
Thanks everyone for a great Christmas!
